Political Science Department

The Political Science Department of the Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Government College Palampur has typically offers students in-depth understanding of political system, Political theory, political policies, comparative politics and international relations. It is design to equip students with the critical thinking, analytical and communication skills necessary to engage with political processes and institutions at local, National and international level.

Political Science Department deals with diverse Curriculum. The department often provides a broad range of courses that covers topic like Indian political thought, comparative politics, International relations, International politics, western political thought, Indian Government and politics etc. students have opportunity to explore some specific areas such as human rights, voting behaviour, Indian Political theory etc.

Political Science Department is also focusing on the importance of research. Students are engaged in Research Projects under the paper of Public Opinion and Survey Research. A major part of political science department is engaging students in thoughtful discussions about political events, ideas and the implication of policies. Seminars, quiz and group discussions are also conducted for students to enhance their practical knowledge.

In short, the Political Science Department plays a pivotal role in shaping well rounded, informed citizens and future leaders. Through a combination of theoretical foundations, practical experience and Research opportunities, the department helps students to better understand the different aspects of politics.
